North Hollywood Overpowers Grant, 13-8

Benny Valdez and Erik Martinez each hit grand slams to power North Hollywood High to a 13-8 East Valley League win over Grant in the baseball opener for both teams.

The Huskies had loaded the bases before each home run courtesy of Grant pitching, which yielded 15 walks.

Catcher John Kukawski hit two home runs for Grant, but the Lancers managed only four hits. Steve Sobisky recorded the win for North Hollywood and Jason Parker took the loss for Grant.
