Love and Shot Gun Marriage Go Together

SAN DIEGO — Rollie Love, bass player for San Diego Curb/MCA recording artists the Beat Farmers, started a side project two months ago. Shot Gun Marriage, the name of his new rock ‘n’ roll band, is made up of local musicians.
“The new band is a way for me to spend my idle time,” Love said. “I don’t really have much to do when the Beat Farmers aren’t touring or recording.
“Country Dick (drummer for the Farmers) and Joey Harris (Beat Farmers’ guitarist and singer) also work with a local group, The Sidewinders, when we’re home.
“The music in Shot Gun Marriage has a harder edge than the stuff I do in the Beat Farmers.”
The members in Shot Gun Marriage are all in their early 20s, and with the exception of Love, newcomers to San Diego’s music scene.
They have eight original songs and are taking their music to clubs around town.
They will be appearing at Rio’s this Friday. The show starts at 9 p.m.
