The Lazers, continuing with their season-long battle for second place in the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Western Division, travel to Chicago tonight to play the Sting at 7:30.
The fourth-place Lazers (17-18) trail the San Diego Sockers by 10 games but are only a half-game out of second place. The Lazers have the league’s second-best road record (11-8), although they lost to the Minnesota Strikers, 6-3, Saturday night.
Under newly appointed head Coach Gary Hindley, the Sting (17-19) is coming off a 7-6 double-overtime win over the Cleveland Force Saturday night and is in a three-team battle for second place in the Eastern Division.
The Sting, led by midfielder Ben Collins with 15 goals, is 1 1/2 games behind the second-place Force.
