Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting two weeks ago of a 27-year-old man in the Jungle, a neighborhood in Southwest Los Angeles. Kenneth Madden, 23, will be charged today with attempted murder in the Feb. 15 shooting incident, Los Angeles police said.
Campbell was shot in the abdomen after arguing with drug dealers about their use of his car to stash their drug supplies.
Madden, who was arrested two weeks ago for selling narcotics, told police that he was acting in self-defense and that Campbell was armed during the altercation, Detective John Bunch said. “Nobody else is saying that he (Campbell) was armed,” Bunch said.
Campbell is recovering at home after spending four days at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
