The sale of the Hemet News and three weekly newspapers to Donrey Media Group was announced by James Gill III, president of the Hemet Valley Publishing Co. The 95-year-old Hemet News is an afternoon daily newspaper with circulation of 22,000. The sale price was not announced. The weeklies include the San Jacinto Valley Register, Moreno Valley Butterfield Express and Riverside County News Advertiser. Donald W. Reynolds, founder and chairman of Donrey, said Gill will remain as editor and publisher. Donrey is based in Fort Smith, Ark.
