David V. Whitt, 53, has been elected president and chief executive of Beneficial Standard Life Insurance Co., Los Angeles, the life insurance subsidiary of CalFed Inc. He succeeds James B. Jacobson, who will remain chairman.
Whitt previously was executive vice president of Keystone Provident Life Insurance Co., Boston, a subsidiary of the Travelers Corp. He will join Beneficial Standard Life in early March.
