BOCA RATON, Fla. — Nancy Lopez, bidding for her 37th LPGA win, Saturday shot a windchilled one-under-par 71 for a four-shot lead through three rounds of the $200,000 Mazda tournament.
“There were so many cross-wind shots, you had to be careful with your club selection and you have to maneuver the ball,” Lopez said of the 53-degree temperature and 20 m.p.h. wind.
Lopez enters today’s final round with a three-round total of 208, eight under par.
Spain’s Marta Figueras-Dotti was second at four-under-par 212 after a par 72 over the 6,368-yard Stonebridge Golf and Country Club course.
Martha Foyer was third at 213 after shooting a 72.
