Events in the news this week.
Last call: The only club that serves liquor at the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center is scheduled to shut down for good Monday. The Armada Inn has served beer and drinks to military men and women since the mid-1940s, from the days when Los Alamitos was a naval air station. Today, about 5,000 members of the National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy Reserve and Marines train at the 1,300-acre base three weekends a month.
