$2-Million Fire Hits Car Dealer

Fire raced through the Maurice J. Sopp & Son car dealership in Huntington Park early today, causing $2.25 million in damage, Los Angeles County firefighters said.
The blaze was centered in the Chevrolet dealer’s showroom floor and repair bay area, Capt. David Moore said. The first alarm was sounded at 1:20 a.m. About 60 firefighters were dispatched to the fiery 40,000-square-foot building at 5801 Pacific Blvd. Cause of the fire was not immediately known.
