At least 10 people were killed, including one American, and 15 were injured when a train carrying 500 passengers derailed in northwestern Mexico, officials said. The accident occurred just before dawn as the train was pulling out of Estacion Sufragio, a small station north of the city of Culiacan, 660 miles northwest of Mexico City, a spokesman for the Mexican National Railroad said. He said a Pullman sleeper car lifted off the rails, taking the other cars with it. Witnesses said that at least four cars of the 16-car train derailed.
