Pacific Lighting Corp.’s net income skyrocketed 200% to $251.17 million for 1987. The Los Angeles-based firm, parent of Southern California Gas Co. and Thrifty Corp., reported operating revenue of $5.339 billion, up less than 1% from 1986. The company said the results were due to record earnings from retailing and oil and gas operations and an $8-million gain on the sale of its land development business.
