General Electric Co.’s earnings rose 17% to $2.9 billion in 1987. Revenue increased 12% to $39.31 billion from 1986. The Fairfield, Conn.-based company attributed the results to strong increases coming from NBC, GE Financial Services and its plastics, medical systems and aircraft engine units.
