Boise Cascade’s profit rose 79% to $183 million in 1987. Revenue for 1987 was $3.8 billion, compared to $3.7 billion in 1986. The Boise, Ida., company said two factors contributed to the improved performance: strong market conditions for all of the company’s major business units and significant efficiencies stemming from aggressive cost-reduction efforts and a restructuring program.
