The State Assembly Ways and Means Committee voted, 14-1, to end state licensing for professional wrestling. The author of the bill, Assemblyman Richard Floyd (D-Hawthorne) argued that the State Athletic Commission should not be in the business of licensing wrestlers, their agents or referees “whose main job is to never see the bad guy do bad things.”
