PCAA Roundup : Berry Leads San Jose St. Past UCSB

Ricky Berry scored 20 of his game-high 24 points in the second half to lead San Jose State to a 67-61 win over UC Santa Barbara in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game Thursday night before a crowd of 6,000 at Santa Barbara.
Dietrick Waters scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Spartans (8-5 overall, 4-1 in the PCAA).
Carrick DeHart was the Gauchos’ leading scorer with 18 points. The Gauchos (11-2, 3-1) shot just 35.9% for the game, 31% in the second half.
The loss snapped UC Santa Barbara’s 14-game home winning streak.
New Mexico State 65, Fresno State 60--Virgil Harris scored 15 points, and the Aggies held off the Bulldogs at Las Cruces, N.M.
The Aggies (10-7, 3-2) stopped a late Bulldog rally with a string of eight straight points near the finish.
Jarvis Cole scored 17 of his 25 points in the second half to bring Fresno State (4-9, 1-3) back from a 14-point deficit.
The Bulldogs trailed, 49-35, but got back into the game by scoring 12 straight points.
