Culver City : City Treasurer Will Step Down

Culver City Treasurer Lu Herrera said she will retire from her post on April 19 after 36 years with the city, including six terms as the city’s top financial official.
The City Council on Monday honored Herrera with a motion proclaiming Jan. 9, the date of a testimonial dinner in her honor, as “Lu Herrera Day” in Culver City.
Herrera said that after 36 years with the city, including six terms as the top financial officer, it is time to have some fun.
“I plan on sleeping late, reading the morning Times from cover to cover, drinking two cups of coffee and taking a long time doing all those things,” she said.
