Monrovia : 3 Car Dealers to Relocate
The city has reached final agreement to relocate three car dealers from West Huntington Drive to a new auto row on Central Avenue north of the Foothill Freeway between Mountain and Shamrock avenues.
Sierra Lincoln Mercury, Savage Mazda and Price Chevrolet will join Savage Hyundai and Sierra Honda-Pontiac at the new location.
The Redevelopment Agency, concerned that the city would lose dealerships if it could not provide a freeway location for them, last year issued a 5-year, $15-million bond note to finance the 20-acre center.
Duarte is building an auto row next to Monrovia’s on Central Avenue between Mountain and Highland avenues that will have eight dealerships.
The vacant sites on Huntington Drive will be used for retail development.
