Amnesty International urged Iraq to investigate reports that its security forces have poisoned government opponents by spiking yogurt with rat poison, killing at least three people. The London-based human rights organization said it received reports that about 40 Kurds opposed to the Iraqi regime were poisoned with thallium in separate incidents last year. The victims are said to have included members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Socialist Party-Iraq, both of which oppose the government of President Saddam Hussein.
