Mecham Testifies Before Grand Jury in Loan Probe

PHOENIX — Gov. Evan Mecham, already under fire from recall and impeachment groups, testified Wednesday before a state grand jury investigating alleged improprieties involving a $350,000 campaign loan. Ken Smith, spokesman for the governor, said Mecham would again testify briefly before the panel today.
