15th ‘American Music Awards’ Special on Jan. 25
The 15th annual “American Music Awards†will be presented during a three-hour special Jan. 25 on ABC (8-11 p.m.). The Bee Gees, Mick Fleetwood, Whitney Houston, Barbara Mandrell and Smokey Robinson will share host duties.
Dick Clark is executive producer of the program, which will originate from the Shrine Auditorium and include satellite remotes from Australia, England and Nashville.
Five awards will be given in three categories: pop/rock, country and soul/rhythm and blues. Also, a special award of merit will be made for outstanding musical contributions over a long period.
