Prep Soccer : Edison Boys Out to Repeat

Defending champion Edison High School is among the favorites in the fourth annual Marina/Fountain Valley boy’s soccer tournament that begins today at Marina High.
Edison (5-3), which beat Marina in last year’s championship game, is joined by Simi Valley High School, Palos Verdes and Bullard High from Fresno as the favorites in the 32-team tournament.
Eighteen other Orange County teams will join Edison in the tournament--Saddleback, La Quinta, Fountain Valley, Western, Capistrano Valley, Canyon, Troy, Tustin, Huntington Beach, University, Ocean View, Servite, San Clemente, Newport Harbor, Marina, Katella, Santa Ana and Mission Viejo.
The championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday.
