Local News in Brief : Grant to Aid Homeless
The Family Housing Corp. of Los Angeles will receive $300,000 to help homeless families with children under a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant. The corporation provides therapeutic and respite care, operates a child-abuse prevention project and offers infant after-school and neighborhood child-care programs.
The funds are authorized by the McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, signed by President Reagan in July.
