17 Arrested in Riot at Ft. Ord Club

FT. ORD, Calif. — Seventeen people were arrested and two military police officers were injured in a riot that broke out early Friday at an enlisted men’s club here, sheriff’s deputies said.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Department and police from the towns of Marina and Seaside were called to the riot that broke out shortly after midnight at the Rally Point enlisted men’s club, officials said.
It took more than an hour for officers to break up the more than 100 people involved in the riot and disperse several large groups of soldiers and civilians, officials said.
Two officers were injured and 17 people were arrested.
