Ann Chlebicki, an assistant superintendent of Saddleback Valley Unified School District, has been named to the state’s Curriculum Development and Supplemental Materials Commission, the state Board of Education announced.

The 18-member commission is responsible for recommending instructional materials to the state Board of Education. The materials it surveys include textbooks for kindergarten through the eighth grade.

Chlebicki, a former principal of Huntington Beach High School who lives in Huntington Beach, is one of 16 public members serving on the commission. Two members of the Legislature also serve on the panel.
