Local News in Brief : CHP, Glendale Plan Drunk Checkpoint
The California Highway Patrol and Glendale Police Department will set up a sobriety checkpoint in Glendale on Saturday night, CHP and police officials announced Tuesday.
The roadblock will be the first in Glendale since 1984 when the first sobriety checkpoint in the state was set up along Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta.
Last year, 770 motorists driving under the influence were arrested in Glendale, Glendale Police Chief David J. Thompson said. During the first 10 months of this year, 684 drivers have been arrested.
The location and time of the roadblock will be disclosed on Saturday, officials said.
