KCBS’ Valerie Coleman Heads Watts Parade

“A Salute to Youth” is the theme of the 23rd Watts/Willowbrook Christmas Parade, which gets under way at noon today, with KCBS-TV anchorwoman Valerie Coleman as grand marshal.
The two-mile parade, to be officially started by past grand marshal Henry Tillman, 1984 Olympic gold medal winner in heavyweight boxing, begins at El Segundo Boulevard and Central Avenue and proceeds north on Central to 99th Street.
