St. John’s 82, Fairleigh Dickinson 60--Boo Harvey and Michael Porter each had 20 points for the Redmen, who scored 17 of the final 21 points in the first half for a 37-22 lead at New York.
Shelton Jones had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Redmen (3-0), while Matt Brust had a game-high 12 rebounds. St. John’s outrebounded the Knights, 47-25.
Damari Riddick had 23 points, 19 in the second half, for Fairleigh Dickinson (1-1).
Michigan State 87, Maine 44--The Spartans had blitzes of 16-0 and 14-0 at East Lansing, Mich., as they avenged last season’s loss to the Black Bears by scoring their most lopsided win in nine years.
