Assault and weapons charges may be filed this week against a Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution inmate who, armed with a homemade knife, held a prison hospital worker hostage during a 12-hour weekend siege, authorities said. The hostage, whose name was being withheld, was released unharmed after the inmate was given the drug he demanded. The identity of the 27-year-old inmate was also being withheld by officials.
