Two workshops, one for travelers to Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and the other for travelers to Asia, will be offered by American Youth Hostels at 1 p.m. Saturday at Los Angeles International Hostel, 3601 S. Gaffey St., San Pedro. The workshops will focus on budget travel, including tips on planning, packing, documents, transportation and hosteling. Admission is $3. A 2 1/2-day workshop for bed-and-breakfast innkeepers will be presented by Pat Hardy and Jo Ann Bell, authors of “So You Want to Be an Innkeeper, the Complete Guide to Operating a Successful Bed & Breakfast Inn,” next Sunday through Nov. 17 in Napa. The course will emphasize buying an existing inn. A fee of $375 per person or $500 per couple includes dinner the second night, lunches, inn tours and workbook.
