Phase 1 to Start at Playa Vista

The first phase of the Playa Vista development, between Marina del Rey and Los Angeles International Airport, is in the planning stages by Howard Hughes Properties. McCarthy/Pacific of Newport Beach, western division of McCarthy, will provide construction management services.
Preparatory work on Playa Vista, believed to be “the largest and most valuable undeveloped urban land parcel in the country,” has been initiated with the stockpiling of fill dirt for the project.
Grading and construction of infrastructure elements on 220 acres of the 957-acre site will commence following approval and permits by the City of Los Angeles.
