Defensive end Reggie Rogers, Detroit’s No.1 draft pick this year, was placed on the reserve non-football injury list so he may receive emotional and personal counseling, a Lion spokesman said.
The spokesman refused to elaborate on why Rogers, 23, would receive the counseling or how long he would be on the list. Rogers was in the Detroit area Friday.
NFL rules require that a player be kept on such a list for at least 30 days. That would make Rogers eligible to return to the roster for Detroit’s Dec. 13 game at Tampa Bay.
