Long Beach : Club’s License on Agenda
Hacienda Magallanes, once known as Club Sylvia under a different owner, will be back before the Long Beach City Council on Tuesday to request an expansion of its entertainment license. This time, the club has the backing of Vice Mayor Warren Harwood, who earlier this summer asked his colleagues to restrict the club’s operation because of noise and parking complaints.
At the time, owner Rita Magallanes countered that the complaints were about the former bar at 6101 Cherry Ave. and not her club, which opened in February.
Harwood said this week that there have been no complaints from neighbors since the council gave the Magallanes a license restricting its entertainment to Friday and Saturday nights until midnight.
