Micro D 3rd-Quarter Earnings Double Over Figures for 1986
Micro D, a Santa Ana-based computer-products distributor, reported that its third-quarter earnings doubled to $1.4 million from $675,000 in the 1986 quarter. Sales for the quarter were $85.8 million, a 52% increase from $56.4 million a year earlier.
For the first nine months of 1987, the company reported net income of $3.9 million, contrasted with $1.8 million in the prior-year period. Sales were $244 million, a 68% increase from the $145.8 million posted in 1986.
According to Linwood Lacy, Micro D chairman and chief executive officer, the results reflect strong demand for microcomputer products, as well as Micro D’s efforts at controlling operating expenses.
