Swimmers to Raise Funds for Leukemia Society Chapter
WHITTIER — Swimmers are needed to participate in the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Leukemia Society’s Super Swim Classic to be held from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 24 in the City of Commerce and Oct. 25 at the East Whittier YMCA, in addition to other locations outside the Southeast area.
Participants solicit pledges from friends, family members and neighbors for each lap they swim. First- through third-place prizes will be awarded at each pool for the top three money-raisers, and an overall grand prize--a trip to Lake Tahoe--will also be awarded. In addition, a victory party will be held Nov. 19 at the Pizza Hut in Westwood.
