Ridesharing Week will be marked in Orange County this week with a bicycle fair, a country-Western day and free hot dogs.

Proclaimed by the governor to promote car-pooling, the week’s theme is “Look Who’s Ridesharing Now.â€

Spectrumotion, the traffic management program for the 2,000-acre Irvine Spectrum business complex at the Santa Ana and San Diego freeways, is sponsoring a bicycle fair from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the corner of Alton Way and Technology Drive in Irvine.

Commuter Network, the Orange County Transit District’s ride-sharing service, has helped form more than 19,000 car and van pools, saving these commuters more than $36.9 million in auto operating costs and 8 million gallons of fuel, OCTD estimated.
