Auditorium Damage Causes Cancellation of Whittier Concert
WHITTIER — The Rio Hondo Symphony has cancelled a free concert that was to be held today in the auditorium at Whittier High School.
Dorothea Cummings, publicity manager for the orchestra, said that the school site was unusable due to damage sustained during Thursday’s earthquake.
The performance, which would have been the first in the orchestra’s 1987-88 concert season, will be rescheduled at a future date, Cummings said.
