Three University of Pittsburgh basketball players--including Jerome Lane, the nation’s leading rebounder last season--have been implicated in a weekend brawl, according to Pittsburgh police.

Three witnesses told police that Lane, starting forward Demetreus Gore and reserve forward-center Steve Maslek were part of a group that crashed through an apartment door and assaulted at least three students early Saturday.

Students in the apartment said the altercation was precipitated when someone spilled beer on Maslek during a party.
