Listen to This Tax
I had to smile when I read the letter on Sept. 13 warning readers about the 5% hotel tax in Hawaii. In Paris this summer at the Hotel Crillon we paid 58% tax. Although our prepaid voucher was marked “customer will pay tax upon departure,” 58% has to be the most outrageous gouging in travel history. Americans beware!
