Jorgensen Sets Cross-Country Mark at Dana Hills
Kira Jorgensen, running at the Division II level, ran the fastest girls’ time and set a course record Saturday at the Dana Hills Invitational cross-country meet.
Jorgensen, who runs for Rancho Buena Vista High School, completed the three-mile course in 16 minutes 37 seconds. Jorgensen competed in the senior-junior grouping of mid-sized schools.
Corona del Mar’s Eddie Lavelle posted the fastest boys’ time in 14:35. Shannon Winkleman, a Marina senior competing in Division I, had the second-fastest time, 14:38.
The Dana Hills team had the fastest combined time of all divisions, clocking 74:47; Corona del Mar was second in 75:40.
Montebello’s team time of 93:28 was best in the girls’ division. Santa Ana Valley was second in 93:52.
