Stevens Rides Sebrof to El Cajon Win

DEL MAR â€”  Sebrof, ridden by Gary Stevens, took the lead on the far turn and won by a length in the $54,000 El Cajon Stakes for 3-year-olds Friday at Del Mar.

Earn Your Stripes, ridden by Chris McCarron, finished second, 3 1/2 lengths in front of Light Sabre, the 6-5 favorite ridden by Russell Baze.

Sebrof raced 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 and earned $31,650 for the victory. The son of Bold Forbes, who is trained by Laz Barrera, paid $17, $8 and $3.40. Earn Your Stripes returned $6.60, and $3.20 and Light Sabre paid $2.60 to show.
