Poway
The Palomar-Pomerado Hospital Foundation will launch a $3.4-million fund-raising drive Tuesday for construction of a new chemical dependency unit at Pomerado Hospital in Poway.
Foundation spokesman George Cordry said Friday that the unit is needed to expand the hospital district’s drug treatment program to youth. The district’s chemical dependency unit is now limited to treatment of adults.
Hospital officials will announce details of the program at a news conference at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in Rancho Bernardo.
