A jury awarded Harper House, a privately held Culver City firm that created the Day Runner organizer system, $6 million in damages against Thomas Nelson Inc., a national book publisher; Time Maker; National Media Group, and R. M. Marketing. The award was for infringement on Harper House’s copyright for its binder and organizer inserts system. The jury also found unfair competition and awarded Harper House $150,000 in sanctions in addition to the damage award.
