L. A. School District Will Sell Hollywood Homes for $100 Up
- Share via
Four Hollywood-area homes, located on property recently acquired by the Los Angeles City Board of Education, will be sold for a minimum of $100 each to anyone willing to move the structures from their present sites.
The homes--at 5600, 5642, 5646 and 5656 Carlton Way--were purchased by the district so it can expand nearby Grant Elementary School. The homes will be demolished if they aren’t sold.
Bidders must own land onto which the homes can be moved, and must be able to move the houses “expeditiously,” a district spokeswoman said. Usually, she said, the district allows up to 60 days from the date on the bill of sale for a buyer to move a building off district property.
The district will take offers on the homes until Sept. 16. A packet with full details is available from the school district’s real estate office, 213/742-7581.
