Best Products reported a loss of $3.2 million for the third quarter, compared to a loss of $5.68 million a year ago. The Richmond, Va.-based discount retailer said the improvement was due to increases in both sales and gross margin as well as efforts to maintain tight control of overall expenses. Sales were up 4% to $424.17 million.
