Actress Whoopi Goldberg, the cast of “The Golden Girls†and other celebrities joined four-legged movie star Benji and an estimated 10,000 fans at The Burbank Studios for the 11th annual fund-raiser for Actors and Others for Animals. The event featured a celebrity auction that offered movie props, some latex feet from “The Fly†and bat feet from “The Lost Boys,†as well as a tambourine and ring from singer Stevie Nicks, matching jackets once belonging to singer Billy Joel and his wife, model Christie Brinkley, and a platinum record earned by singer Barbra Streisand. Jodie Mann, spokeswoman for the event, said organizers hoped to raise more than $125,000 to help animals and their owners. Among other things, the group helps senior citizens pay for the upkeep of their pets.
