A wind-swept brush fire roared across thousands of acres in southeast Idaho, destroying at least one home and forcing evacuation of hundreds of people from one neighborhood in Pocatello, authorities said. Bannock County Commission Chairman Tom Katsilometes declared a disaster area and put the Idaho National Guard on call to prevent any possible looting of the homes. Authorities confirmed that one home had been destroyed in the heavily wooded Johnny Creek area on the outskirts of Pocatello amid reports that several others were on fire.
