Sri Lanka’s largest Tamil rebel group announced that it will surrender its remaining weapons Tuesday to Indian troops enforcing a peace accord on the island nation. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam had already turned over an arms cache in Jaffna to Indian troops. Another rebel group, the Eelam Revolutionary Organization of Students, said it has given up nearly all its arms. New Delhi and Colombo signed an accord on July 29 to end the four-year-old civil war in which about 6,000 have died.
