Jian Hu, president of China Film Distribution and Exhibition Corp./China Film Export and Import Corp., one of the largest film companies in China, has begun a series of meetings in Los Angeles designed to expand the exchange of films between the two countries. On his first trip to the United States, Hu is talking with American producers and studios about film making and the exhibition of U.S. films in Chinese theaters. As part of an effort to ease the way for exhibition of more Chinese films in American markets, Hu announced, China Film (L.A.) has formed a partnership with the U.S. company Cinefest Productions.
