Afghan guerrillas shot down a transport plane with a U.S.-made Stinger missile, killing 12 people, Kabul radio and the Soviet news agency Tass reported. The victims were five crew members and seven passengers, including two children, the reports said. There was no word on whether there were survivors. The Soviet-made AN-26 plane crashed after being hit by the missile in eastern Afghanistan while on a flight from Kabul to Khost, a town about 80 miles southeast of Kabul and 20 miles from the border with Pakistan.
