A 19-year-old self-proclaimed Nazi was under arrest in San Jose for allegedly taking part in a racial attack on a black woman. United Press International said Mark Tipton admitted in a jail interview that he and his friends harassed the victim, but he claimed that they did not touch her. The 54-year-old woman, a summer school teacher, said a group of young men with shaved heads grabbed her while she was walking her dog. She said they demanded money, saying, “Niggers pay toll.†They also threatened to hang her from a tree, she told police.
